Born in Munich, Germany, Julie was shaped by the richness of European culture. After living in Shanghai, China, for five years, she and her family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, and then they settled in Orange County, California, where she has resided since 2019.
With a career dedicated to children’s education - from working in children’s homes, serving as a preschool and kindergarten principal, now as an artist, writer, German teacher & life coach - Julie’s work is rooted in her professional experiences and life wisdom. ArtsAs an artist, I’ve been making paintings and sculptures all my life and enjoy combining different techniques. I use found objects and integrate them into paintings or use them as tools. I often paint without brushes, allowing the colors to tell the story.
I am inspired by my German heritage, European culture, Chinese painting, Australian indigenous art, my time living in Tennessee, and the impressions I get every day in Southern California. |
